The Spirit of VMI Responds to VMI Board Appointments

For Immediate Release

1 July 2022

Governor Youngkin chooses BOV members who value VMI’s traditional culture.

Lexington VA- The Spirit of VMI PAC (SOVP) applauds Governor Youngkin’s recent appointments to the VMI Board of Visitors and thanks him for considering the PAC’s nominations. Two of the four new Board members were recommended by the SOVP, but all four reflect a respect and understanding of the educational and social rubrics and traditions that have made VMI great.

The SOVP offers congratulations to the new Board members (Gottwald ’83, Edgar ’87, Adams ’96 and Mobbs (USMA ’08)), all announced on 30 June 2022. The Spirit of VMI looks forward to assisting them and their BOV colleagues in moving the Institute forward in a way that values the past and builds on the future.

The Spirit of VMI PAC is a registered Virginia Political Action Committee and was founded in 2021. Its purpose is to preserve VMI’s legacy and its continued contribution to the state and the nation as an elite leadership institution during this time of political and cultural unrest. “VMI is Good."
