WHO WE ARE
We are alumni, parents and friends of VMI. We are an independent legal entity and registered political action committee (PAC). We are separate and distinct from the institute and its alumni agencies.
WHAT WE DO
Since 1839, VMI has been a preeminent leadership institution that has served the Commonwealth of Virginia and the United States. The Spirit of VMI wants to ensure this continues for many generations to come.
Many key politicians are aggressively interested in VMI in a way that not only threatens its status as a top-ranked college in the nation, but even its survivability. We work to improve the political landscape in favor of VMI.
Some political adversaries are calling for the defunding of VMI. We will affect change in the state’s legislature when it benefits VMI. We will continue to prove that VMI IS GOOD.
Many key politicians are aggressively interested in VMI in a way that not only threatens its status as a top-ranked college in the nation, but even its survivability.
HOW IT WORKS
By supporting legislators, state of Virginia government officials, and selected candidates for government office, we establish a federation of elected officials who know, understand and value VMI.
We find and support legislators, state of Virginia government officials, and selected candidates for government office, that support VMI through these 5 essential principles:
1. VMI Honor Code
2. Educating young women and men
3. Regimental system (VMI’s leadership system)
4. Class system (the foundational system building camaraderie and lifelong friendships among VMI academic years/classes)
5. VMI Ratline (the crucible for all freshmen)
